Body Image Assignment
Examine a recent teen magazine. Using words, advertisements, and images found in the magazine, create a collage that displays how these convey how teens ‘should’ look.

Answer the following question on a separate piece of lined paper.

1. What do the images and advertisements tell you about how a teen ‘should’ look?
2. What message is being communicated about what is important to teens?
3. What effect to you think this message may have on your body image and those of your friends?
For each question, explain your answer in a well organized paragraph using 4 specific examples from your collage.

• Read a chapter from the book you borrowed from the library

Social Studies

• Due Friday: "C" is for Canada assignment. Using each letter of the alphabet assign a statement that relates to some aspect of Canadian Identity. Consider landscape, history, music, art, drama, industry, or other symbols that uniquely represent Canada.

L.A

• Grammar test will be on Friday and will cover nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, prepositions, pronouns, proper nouns, possessive nouns, and singular/plural nouns. Please review your notes well in advance so you are ready for the quiz.

Health

• Find an article in the newspaper or a magazine that relates to positive health choices.

Social Studies

• Write a paragraph describing how "Bright Land" on page 8 reflects or does not reflect Canadian Identity
